Got my RO/DI today hoping this helps

OK recieved my Typhoon 5 stage RO/DI from Air, Water and Ice today. Man this thing is a beast. I got it all set up before having to come into work this evening and it is doing it's thing. I know the instruction said give it some time but I looked at what my incomming TDS reading was and it was 24-29 now I dont know is tht good or bad? My outgoing water is still doing its thing before I look at it but was thinking is that small number really the cause of my algae bloom?

Food is not an issue as far as I can tell. I only put enough in for my fish to eat. I watch it closely. I have it down to a science. I know just how big of a pinch I can give them without it going to the bottom or going over the overflow. I feed them flakes one day and a frozen medly the next.

I have cut way back on my MH use as well. Only 3 hours now and I worry about the corals getting enough light.

Hopefully here in a week I will have me a new sea hare to mow off any remainder of the algae my scrubbing misses.

What else am I missing?

OK let it run over night and into this afternoon but for some reason the TDS meter shows the same reading for what is going out as what is going in 27-31. I dont believe I missed any steps to its install. I guess I wil give it a little more time and do some research

Give Air, Water & Ice a call tomorrow as you should have a reading of 0 coming out

I was thinking about taking a lead out an putting it in some distilled water to see if the reading changes. The only mess up was I got the in and out probes swapped. I wouldn't think that would matter at all.

Oh if I did that I would swap them to the correct spot. Thought I would add that before I got ribbed for it.

Sorry I missed your post Floyd. Been a busy weekend. I got it working. Swapped out the leads let it run for another hour or so and it started to show 0 ppm comingout. Did a water change (20 gal) yesterday and willl do another 20 Thursday and probably do another 20 gal two more times at least over the next week and a half. I hope this helps out.

I am sure that it will . I know that I have said this before but the solution to pollution is dillution. Just keep singing that as you lug the buckets over to the tank as you do your water changes.
