I recently got a very nice rbta from returnofsid hoping that my clown would host it, but in the mean time I have a trachyphylia that is getting to be huge and Nemo seems to think he lives there. This brain has 8 mouths, and is easily 5"x7" and 4" tall in the early afternoon, and the clown likes to play behind it, and even will just sit on top. Just thought it was a funny story to share. I hope he will find the rbta eventually, but hasn't caused any harm so whatever makes him happy.

You mean you stuck a little clown doll in your anemone? Ha Ha. I heard of a good trick to find a picture of your specific clown and anemone living together, and tape it to your tank. But unfortunately my printer is out of ink. Also, the rbta picked the dead center of my tank, and nemo sticks around one end where he won't be bothered by "Lenny the Blenny".

Ya kindda really did but with out the doll. I did the tap to glass thing then i notice him looking at it, i started to move my hands back and
forth twards him and over the
light kindda scared him in to it. As soon as he touched it he knew what to do

My new "1 week out of QT" clowns poke their noses in the RBTA every little while, but have not really moved in yet. I hope they will soon! Mostly it is the larger of the two that swims up and brushes lightly and watches for a bit, then moves on. They are the only fish in the tank, so perhaps when they have more pressure they will move in.

I placed a small hand held mirror next to the RBTA when my clown took forever to host in it. Once she saw her reflection, she couldn't resist a closer look. She felt the anemone and stayed in it ever since.

Very good idea. It probably triggered a territorial response, the clown thinking another clown was invading it's territory, and it had to protect the anemone!! It also goes along with other things I've read about that "first touch," with clown fish. Seems that they need an initial "introduction" sometimes, and then nature seems to quickly take over.

I'll give the mirror a try!
It sure looks like she is touching it when she pokes her head in, but she might just be getting really close. I would say she is over there every 10 minutes or so poking around, then moves on.
They are tank raised, and I have heard that they can be slower to use a host.
I dunno, it sure is fun to watch though.

My clowns just finally found my nem a couple days ago and now my male almost never leaves it. I had just given up on them leaving the GSP they were using. Took them 4 months to finally jump in but it happened.

Our clowns must be related!

I thought that my clowns were the only ones that lived this way.
