Any doubt of that dissipated long ago.... :D  ;)

I would just like to echo others' thanks to the members who kicked in and helped out so much with setup and tear down for this event. That was the best PSAS meeting I've ever been to!

I really loved Anthony's presentation.

What a blast!!!

I agree with Paul. It is a blast. 117 people.... amazing.
Too bad we dont have enough time. We could have set it up like around 3:00 pm up to 9:00 pm. You won't get board. Amazing seminar/speech.

Unbelievable.

It was a first meeting for me too. And WOW! That was really truly Great!

I think I could've listened Anthony for a couple more hours and some more after a little stretch :D
Also it was SO educating to actually participate in propagation practice for a newby like me!! Thanks a lot!!!

only one small comment , the propgation was great ,got some great frags but i wish it went into more detail on how to mount,or glue these new frags into place witch is better ect. like the montipora do i just clue it flat to a rock,on edge or glued overhanging off the rock on edge

Had a fabulous time! I wish we'd had a couple more hours available for everything, but woohoo!

I ended up stuck in Seattle overnight, and had to leave rather hurriedly, because Dave was feeling unwell (nothing contagious and he was better by morning), but my frags seem to have weathered the extra transit time. Everyone's settled in, got their sunshade on, which annoyed a couple of other creatures, but so far everybody looks good. My mushroom has already glommed onto the rock like he'd been there all the time, the GSP is fully extended, the candy cane has plumped up a bit... all I can do now is wait and watch...

(And I'm slowly sucking Dave in... he decided to glove up and lend a hand, and even mounted one little crumb of a frag himself... which will be his special frag from now on)

*bounce* I'm running off at the mouth, but that was a *fun* meeting! If they get any bigger though we won't be able to move around the room unless we slide like a puzzle. :)

Darrell,

I agree that the conversation was mostly on the propagation and less on the mounting of what was propagated. I think the meeting went extremely well, but we didn't have enough time to cover everything. In the future we'll allow more time for the big events.

On the frag it sounds like you're describing a Montipora capricornis. This will do best if you mount it on the side (or edge) of a rock so it can grow out vertically.

I think Anthony could have talked for a couple of more hours, too. His enthusiasm is contagious :)

The section on propagating LPS was very interesting and I will definitely give it a try. I don't have a band saw, though!

Hey Glad to hear everyone had a good time. It makes all the work so worth while. We were a little late getting in, and that kinda pushed things a little tight. I think we need to get Anthony back on line here and finis up on some of his mounting instructions. Let me see what I can come up with.

Mike: That would be great to hear some more from Anthony about mounting corals, I hope he joins us.

This was my first meeting and all I can say is WOW. Thanks to all you worked so hard to get this set up and make it run as smooth as it did. Mr. Calfo was great and the frags were a wonderful bonus. Thanks to those who donated and purchased them.

Everbody I meet was very friendly. I wish I could have meet more of you and put more faces to the names I see here and on RC.

See you all at a future meeting.

Good to meet you Al. My wife is a happy camper because of you. ;) Hope to see you at future meetings.

I left that open waiting to see who would bite. I figured it would be Mojo though.... go figure. We bought a skimmer from him for her new aggressive FO tank.

Thanks for the kind greetings.

Well, Gordo I'm glad you cleared that up before people got the wrong idea. I'm glad she likes the skimmer. It was also a pleasure to meet you and we will see you at a meeting in the future.

That could be a good topic of discussion for the big (weekly?) thread that goes on here. A lot of it seems kind of second nature to a lot of us which is probably why it wasn't really touched on during the presentation. I'm sure a lot of us take for granted that not everyone knows you can just cut mushrooms off however and they will regrow, or the best way to mount different monti's.

Anyway, I'll chime in again and say, excellent meeting. I went on for several hours to my friends about it, hopefully the video that was shot of it will find it's way online.
