What is your evaporation like with such a small tank? I know you mentioned a hamster bottle and line for your ATO system, very cool idea.

Cheers,
Alex

thanks for the compliment. i loose a whole hamster bottle every 3 days, not too id imagine the hamster bottle holds half of the tanks volume tho......

Dudeman:

like ive mentioned before, i am trying to keep everything i would in my larger 75 gallon reef in this tank..

in fact, this tank has become my favorite project by far....

i plan on upgrading the lighting to a single 12000k 35 watt HID bulb in the near future as id like to start keeping more light demanding Acro's and perhaps even a clam (WITH DAILY WATER CHANGES).

i have made some changes since i last posted, making room for a few new arrivals as well as removing some problematic corals (my euphyllias were starting to become an issue, stinging nearby acroporas). i added a trimma goby to the mix (litterally like a 1/4" long) but he hides most of the time (ive seen him twice in a week)

im going on vacation for a week but when i return im going to do some major overhauling on this tank, i want to start dosing some sort of filter feeding food (i recently added a yellow cuke that i would like to see thrive) as well as upgrading the light as i mentioned earlier.

attached are a few new pics, not a full update as id like to save that for when i return. note the HUGE dendro polyp . its pushing an inch in daimeter :) a very nice show piece for this small tank.

WOW, that is an amazing tank! I had no idea you could even do something like that! You have totally inspired me. I would love to do a nano like that, with a clown goby, seahorses, & gorgonian. or something. lol. Someday!
Nice work!
