Hello everyone, some of you have met me some have not. I feel like I know all of you since I have been lurking around Reef Frontiers. Well, I have just finished working out an agreement to purchase Fin & Fur Pets in Orting (across from the McDonalds). The deal is about 80% complete. Our goal is to be in by October. My wife will be running the store since I have a general contracting business to attend to. This pet store has been in Orting for 3 years. It is a full line store with all types of animals and dry goods. It also has a nice fish section (in need of a little help). The fish consist of fresh and salt. The salt section needs some serious work. I would love to hear some ideas from the people who would be buying (that's you). What you would like to see? How would you run the system? Anyone in the area that would like to lend a hand when the deal is done would be more than appreciated (discounts on stuff?). My goal is to have a nice, clean and reasonable priced store. Very exciting stuff and hope to meet a bunch of you soon. I will keep you posted, Thanks Mike

ooohh Send me a PM! I think I might have some reasonable ideas for ya. Let me know what you were wanting feedback on. =)

Have I lost my mind
If you had to ask you probably already know the answer.:D I know 2 different people who run fish stores here. Best thing I can tell you is hire someone that is into the hobby and knows what they are doing to keep the tanks up and in check and give out good info. (unless your wife is planning on doing that part)

Thanks for all the positive energy. I will be looking you folks up when the time comes. I am not running a fish only store but would live to have a well rounded fish section.

Oooh! Ooooh! Sell bunnies!!!

Seriously, I wish you all the best. I don't think I've ever been to Orting in all my 20 years I've lived in this state but I will make sure to stop by should it ever happen.

good luck on the store! I have no idea where that place is, but i'd go there and shop for my leos. make sure if you're going to sell amphibians and reptiles,or related products; to really do your homework. that's a hobby that has waaaay to many gimmick products. I know almost nothing about fish right now, but if you need help with herps let me know.

Wishing you the best of Luck! I like seeing people using Oxygen to bag fish and corals. I also like to see quarantined fish and corals as they come in.
