Why?

Well I have a BB tank and uses filter socks everytime I do water change... Now I have several filter socks but still if you wash them on a front loader, it still uses a lot of water and energy to wash... just filter socks... Maybe i can buy maybe 20 more filter socks just to make one load of wash efficient....

but...

Have you tried it? comments?

Thank you....

your crazy man! by the desription on the website it seems like it would work, but for $50 it would take quiet a while to pay for itself. Seems my water bills the same wether I water my lawn daily or if Im outta town.

What kinda of front load Washer do you have? My whirl pool only uses how much ever water it needs to for the wash. I notice it not using much water at all even on a full over packed load.

Yes tossed in with the wash. That is why the second bucket rinse. Otherwise even PPM trace detergent remaining causes skimmer to almost explode.

But my wife doesnt want to include it in the wash... so many debris that comes with the socks... so i dont want to wash it just 3 or 4 socks... i think its still a waste of water and energy...

But Brett you are right, it might take a while before it will pay off... But sometimes i ask myself what i alrealdy (crazy) bought with this hobby of ours... :D

But if its effective then it might be used also for other cloth washing needs and might pay off early...

The Wonderwash operates by stowing your dirty clothes in the barrel, with hot or warm water and a small amount of detergent and fixing the lid in place. A pressure screw in then tightened on the lid. It is this pressure which the key to the performance of the unit. The notion is that the hot water in the completely sealed and pressurised barrel heats up the air trapped inside. This pressure forces the water and the detergent through the fabrics and separates the dirt and grime rapidly.

Hmmm...I don't see how that would work...you can't really compress a liquid, and you'd have equal pressures surrounding the submerged fabrics reguardless of the atmospheric pressure in the container, so I don't see exactly how the water and detergent would be "forced" through the fabrics....sounds like a gimick to me...

FWIW front load washers only use about 13Gs a load as opposed to 40Gs on a top load washer. Im sure our RO's spit out more than that on every WC.

I know that every time we use water it depletes our reservoirs but I like to think of it as doing my part to help dilute all of the crap (pun intended) at the waste treament plant.

...so I am guessing hand washing is out of the question? I just rinse mine out to get out most of the gunk and then throw them in the washer with a load of towels.

I think when you hand wash them, it ruins the mesh on it and you will have different micron sizes everywhere because of the pull and push related to hand washing...

I bought twelve socks and put them in a sealed bucket till most have been used and then run a dedicated load in the washer with just a cup of bleach(no detergent). I used to throw them in with the regular wash but kept getting trace amounts of detergent leftover that caused the skimmer to go into overdrive.

thanks sgwill,

thats my next option... is to buy a lot of socks... so that i can make a complete load.
