Helifungia recovery

Recently my purple long tenacle anemone pulled up its foot and spent an entire night attacking my heliofungia. My anemone has stayed put after we found it a new happy place away from the heliofungia. About how long would it take for my heliofungia to recover and how do I know it is recovering? I would say about 40% of it was hurt. Thanks!

Hello,
The stings from the anemone can be fatal but if you still see some polyp extension and undamaged tissue after a few days it will likely recover. If the polyps are just retracted then recovery will be quick. If the tissue has to regrow it could be a couple of months to fully recover. Regular target feeding will help it recover faster.
