My names paul. I had a tank for a little bit ten years ago, i move allot so the hobby went to the sidelines. Well its time again, I have a 90 bow front with a wet dry filter, Urchin protien skimmer and a coralife t5 for a light. I dont know much about forums or internet for that matter. I been reading allot but talkin with ppl is aways a great way to get info and friends. Right know i have a kole tang, two clowns, and a hairy lobster. Once i get more comfortable i would love a reef. Lookin forward to all the info on this site and talkn with all. have a good one, Paul

wet dry is a bad producer of nitrates. sump/refugium is the way to go. probably able to convert the wet dry into 1. as for the coralife these are way under par for lighting. lookinto metal halide or led. just some sugestions. pics man

Hey Paul. Welcome to RF. We are glad to have you. I'll tell you, I have a 6 bulb T5 light on my 90. It is perfect for soft coral and most LPS. Down the road a bit if you want to do sps, I would suggest going straight to LEDs.
For fish only right now and soft coral, the light you have is fine. Save up for those LED's. Maybe DIY.
Look forward to hearing about and seeing pics of your system when you can post them.

Welcome agian.

wow, you guys noticed me fast. thanks. i don't understand lighting it confuses me which is why im just doing fish right now. thanks for the instant advice. I will definently look into the refugium. this is exactly why i joined. thanks

you can mod your wet dry into a sump/refugium. big thing is to take out the bio balls. then you have a pefectly good sump. you can mod the wet/dry and get a refugium in there too (depending on the size) but i have a rio 2100 pumping over the side of my wet/dry with a 30g on 2x4s. and a bulk head thu the 30g as the return.
