cant really tell. need better pictures. if you are really worried about it. cut it off and through it away.

Hello,
It's difficult to determine anything from the picture but I will guess it is not serious due to the slow growth. If you don't want to cut the coral you can put a little super glue over the area. The coral will quickly overgrow the super glue.

Cheers,
Kevin

Update on the ORA Red Planet. After 2weeks putting superglue over infected area, my red planet start to grow over the superglue spot. Thanks for a great suggestion.

Not sure, it was soft. I tried to scrape it out once, but it come back. With the superglue so far I have not seen it to come back. And the red planet start to grow onto the superglue.

I see, glad that it worked out! I would have thought it to be a sponge. Just weird polyps were still able to get through it.

Little off subject but what placement is it in to keep its green base?

I got 2 red planet, the 1 you see is Ora-Red Planet. it's about 18" directly under the 250W MH. It has a lot of green. The other is just a regular red planet. It's about 22" direct under the 250WMH with on the other side of the tank. This one has very few green.
The lower base of the regular red-planet has very little of green, all red on top. While the Ora-red planet majority is Green. I think it's the Ora-red planet has more green then the regular, and has better color too.
Here are the pics.

yours look good! just got an ora red and its pretty darn green right now and id like to keep it that way

I got Ora red planet to try sps, when I got it it was really dark red with no green showing.
After about 2weeks it started showing green base, then I added 10%more light now the green is getting less but you can see it is growing

More light more red, less light more green. I like to put mine in the middle of the tank, so it can get a balance of red and green

I have mine in the middle of tank, so I will see how it looks after a little while and possibly adjust light settings to alter coral coloration?
