Please tell me there is no harm! We went to feed the baby today her bottle and should took a few swallows and spit everything out. We tried again and she wouldn't drink it. So I said something must be wrong with the bottle so I made her a new one and she drank it. Fine...Then my wife started feeding her her cereal tonight and she made up her face again:confused: I couldn't understand. So anyways, I go to top off my tank with a bottle of water I keep just for the tank that I made a kinda strong salt batch with to raise my salinity and it was missing. I asked my wife if she had seen it and sure enough, she took it for one of the other bottles of water and made the baby's bottle as well as mixed her cereal with it:eek: I don't think she got much down because she wouldn't eat or drink anything that had that water in it and what she did get kinda down she just spit right back up so I don't think she got much at all. Pretty smart for a 5 months if you ask me to know the difference, but really careless of what happened. Anyways, anything to worry about???

That is too funny dont be scared it is part of the body natural reaction my son downed a half of little corona bottle of salt and said his tummy hhurt and I gave him water and caboom all up in three projectiles ha kid the stuff they do now he wont even touch it he calls it yuky puke stuff

LOL! Thanks! If anything she only got maybe a swallow or two down, but nonetheless, she's only 5 months so you have to worry a bit. In any event, she's doing fine talking and laughing so I didn't think it was bad, but you never know what's in some mixes so you have to ask.:)

that is scary just take it as a lesson learned your lucky it wasnt a mixed solution like magnesium or kalk or something else..

Hope she is ok..

Matt

Thanks Matt...My wife is a little bummed out for using the wrong bottle. The problem is we buy our drinking water by the gallon, and I took over an empty one of the gallon jugs a while back for my tank seeing I buy the 5 gallon bottles instead for my tank (same brand) to save me less trips to the store and she see's me pumping pure drinking ro/di water in my little jug all the time for top-offs, but this one time (just so happens this morning) I added salt to it which she didn't see. Anyways, somehow she got things mixed up thinking it was fine and thus the incadent. I'll have to keep my bottle somewhere else because something similar happened the other day. One of my snails crawled out of the tank while I was to work and the housekeeper see's me pump fresh drinking water in my jug to top off and figured she'd just put the snail in a container of pure drinking water till I got home  I guess she missed the part that the tank was saltwater not fresh and I just top off with fresh so the snail died. Anyways, I have to relocate everything now just to be safe:)

BTW...Emily is good:) It's been about 2 hours since we realized what happened and she's cool:)

Oh I have a good one...

Years ago when Shilo was not quite one year old or right around there, in our past life.... we were having a custom house built. We went over to check things out all the time. One of the carpenters left a sprite can where he'd been working and she picked it up and downed it and up it came. He had been using it to spit his tobacco chew in. I thought I would throw up; but she did several times.

A little salt water will be okay no worse then going to the beach snorkeling and swallowing some. Just give the baby some Real liquids to prevent dehydration. My kids have drank way worse :)

My oldest drank out of one that had a cigarette butt in it

ha ha ha - too funny. sorry Krish. Only laughing b/c it reminded me of some pranks i used to play on my little brother when we were growing up. good times, good times.

Yikes!! I would thrown up myself!

Thanks Ken! She's had quite a bit of good water since and is asleep now so I'm happy. I was just afraid the Instant Ocean may have had something in it not suitable for ingestion. I don't ever keep the box for it to read as I empty the salt in a sealable container so...

LOL!! I'm a prankster myself so I know what you mean:p

WOW sure glad she is ok & you figured it out quick enough!
I bet your glad it wasn't anything else! Don't let your wife take it so hard, it will be ok, things happen!

Thanks Scooty...She's still a little upset, but I told her how could she have known. And yes! Things do happen to us all...Just a part of life:)

Opps. Well I am glad to hear all is ok.:) I dont think there is anything to worry about. My daughter and I have been swimming in the ocean a long time now we both have swallowed our share of salt water over the years.:)
Aqua man

When I read the HELP! I could fathom that you needed fish help... after reading it I had to laugh. She will be fine and you can rest easy. Take care.

Salt... ok, whatever.

Chew spit, cigarette butts, Corona... I've always heard how kids will get into anything, but... wow! Krish, are you as scared for/of your new baby as I am now?! :)

ROFL!! Thanks for the replies guys:D I've had my share of drinking tons of saltwater living on an island my whole life, but you never know what extra could be in a salt mix and also what it could do to an infant. :p

wwoouu dood, you should put some lavels in your bottles for fish tank and stuff .
i remember one time (and this is how we put locks in my stand :p) Antonio was crawling and so the husband was playing the computer and i was taking a shower, well Antonio went for a little inspection and as soon as i was getting out of the shower i saw that he had a bottle of iodine in his hands  ...he spilled the liquid all over the carpet and was about to take a sip ....lucky enough i saw it and grabed it right away....after that we put locks everywhere .

I'm so glad Emily is fine dood ...tell Christina that anyone can make mistakes:)

Glad it was just salt, like what it used to swim in (in the womb.) It's a good thing that outside of HCL acid, most highly toxic chemicals are shunned by reefers. Good lessen nevertheless, never give anything to a baby without knowing exactly what is in it.

Yikes!! You were lucky! I'm glad I don't use any chemicals for my tank. Just salt mix now. The only other thing was the 2 part B-Ionic, but that is way out of reach:)

Definately! I was just concerned about the Instant Ocean maybe having something bad in it, but if it were saltwater from the beach, I wouldn't have worried so much.:)

So she didn't like the Instant Ocean huh?...try Reef Crystals next time...lol
I can imagine that didn't taste so good. Hmmm maybe I'll go try some..or I could rim a margarita glass with some dry mix....... ;)
