bobcat - I think most people run them ~9 - 12 hours a day. Mine are on for about 9-10 hours. Here is a past thread when I was trying to figure out what to do with my tank: What is your Photoperiod?.

I run mine for 9 hors a day. If I run them longer i tend to get algae problems and some of my mushrooms don't expand all the way.
