so i build kalk reactor out of acrylic...

i sealed it with

1. one layer s-glue
2. one layer gel s-glue
3. three layer silicon.

will this hold???

and should i get some weld on and slap that on top of all that?? and will that hold?

I used Weld On on my 20 gal acrylic sump and have had no problems. I used the "special" sealant made just for acrylic and I could just pull it off. If you can get the sealent off and just run a small bead of Weld On 16 down the seams, I think that this would give you more security IMO. Good Luck

:) Weldon alone was all that wast needed. I would probably start over if you you made it with super glue.

Yes get some weld-on (or plex weld or a couple of other weld on type products)

and will that hold?

No most likely it will not.

If you don't want to start over from scratch, I would reccomend getting all the silicone off and see if you can break the super glue without breaking the acrylic. Sand the heck out of everything and redo it with weld-on 16. If you want to try a band-aid that might actually work you can get rid of the silicone and get a weld-on 40 kit (Calsak in Kent has the small kits in stock). Pour a bead of 40 around the seam and that should hold.

However, The only way to be sure it to start over.

What kind of pressures are you guys running in your Kalk reactors?!

 That is what i was thinking...I have a 50gal sump with about 2500gph running through it and it is still fine. When i made it, i just used really good hobby glue (roughing up everything that i glued with sand paper to make sure it stuck), "acrylic" silicon (also sanded underneath), and i can pick up the entire thing from one side. True there are supports and chambers running across it in numerous places, but how much does a little stiring box need?

thats also what im thinking...and i can pickup the whole reactor, a good 15# from grabbing a little nozzle on the top and that piece i just used silicon...??? i dun get it. either way, this thing is going to be in a 25g bucket sooo if it leaks, ohh well.
