I actually know David, owner of that tank, and unfortunately, one of those MH's or ballasts caused a fire, and that tank is no longer around. :(

Yea I used them once but the rain kept draining into the tank???

I don't understand this? The modern solar tube installed properly is 100% water tight, no worse than a vent protruding through the roof and will last just as long, they don't leak like the original type of skylights, these days they have them designed to go the distance If installed properly.

Well I tell you after a good tanning session I didnt mind a quick rain to cool things down.

Installed under $500, DIY just over $200 on average but you better know what your doing.
This is pretty much right on the money. An 8"will cost that much and then up for a 10"and 12" YOu can also add an accessory light kit into the tube as well if your putting one into your hallway or bathroom. I couldn't guess how much one of those 24" tubes in the video would cost.
