The K4 will work nicely inside the tank. I think Scooterman was referring to the return pump, which is inside the sump. I'd also agree, they're not the cheapest, but Eheim makes some nice stuff.

Hmmm 2400gph... you could do it, if you worked with the tank a little and found a configuration that didn't whip sand all over. In my 38, I had two powerheads, one in each top, back corner, pointed toward the center of the front glass. It worked out pretty well. Just experiment with it and see if you can find something that works.
