How do you KNOW that acros are getting enough flow?? do you look at the polyps or what? is there a rule of thumb that the polyps have to move fast or not?

currently i have 1x hydor koralia 3 2x seio 820 in a 100 gallon plus a mag 9.5 for return.

the dimensions are 48x24x18

im just getting into sps and its been bugging me for a while lol

Hello,
Acropora species are found in a wide variety of environments even the same species. As a general rule I like to see the polyps shake (imagine you are shaking a small tree) every 30-90 seconds for a couple of seconds or so.

A wave maker power strip is an inexpensive way to accomplish this but be sure the pump you plug into it is designed to be turned on and off continuously.

HTH,
Kevin

ok sounds good that is what i was originally looking at lol i just didnt know how long they should "shake" I dont think the koralia can go on a wave maker and im not sure about the seios. thank you
