I live on Long Island and we just drove around and here is my block. We live in an area called the Oaks and this is why.
I know the South Shore got flooded and many people have a lot of damage.
About a third of the streets are blocked with down, still alive wires and trees.
Thank God that of the dozen or so trees down around my block, none of them fell on a house.

Glad to see you are healthy and doing good. Hell of a storm though. I have alot of friends out there in VA. Norfolk, and VA beach area. THeysaid it was rediculous.

Some of our islands got the full cat 3 damage. A few houses were taken out to sea, many roofs gone etc. Where I live is more central/northern Bahamas and we got 75-80 mph winds at most which didn't do much damage. Most of the damage was done to trees, but building didn't suffer much. Our building codes here don't allow for many wooden homes. They have to be built out of cement/concrete which is why it's usually only a roof that goes. Hope your house didn't get any damage. :)

Glad you and your family are fine.
Every time there is a large storm reported on the news I see all the downed trees. I cant get the thought out of my mind. " If I were there I would buy a portable mill and have enough lumber for many many future projects " LOL

We are fine, very little damage to my house. I just went to my boat which is about 5 miles away and there are only a handful of homes here with power.

They pulled my boat out of the water just before the storm. It will go back in on tuesday.
