I knew it was going to be brown...I got it cheap. It's fully brown.

Has anyone ever turned one around that was brown and made it beautiful and colorful? Looking for hope and inspiration, here. ;)

Cool. How much light did it take, and how far away from the light? Any special food or other tricks?

i got a brown one just like yours :p (it's Mike's monti twin :p).... i just moved mine up not to long ago... i'm praying that it'll color up  .

mine is directly under a 250w 10k reeflux. It thankfully came with color and has held the color. It gets nice flow and seems to love where it is. I think if you give it good water conditions, lighting and flow it should color back up just fine for you.

Hi Sue

I do see some color happening around the base and one edge. The background color is starting to turn purplish pink. Hope I didn't get a Superman instead of a Rainbow....

This one was completely brown and here it is about 2 months later.
I will try to get a few comparison pics. I was told it was orange then it turned brown. Kepe strong light and high flow and you will be happy

Here is a more recent pic. It is twice this size now and much more blue since I got it bigger

Here is an update on my brown rainbow monti

I have blue mantle showing through on the base, top, and one side. Just in certain areas. That's what happened first. TODAY, I saw that the bottom edge of polyps on the base, is orange! All the way around! I'm very excited. (I will try taking a picture soon)
