I have switched to a new salt.

I have been trying Tropic Marin pro reef for 4 months now and I love this stuff. The readings are better than I have ever had from a new mix.
The only draw back is the cost.:shock:

Is that the one that's "organic" and allegedly evaporated from the Red Sea and all that? Or is that Red Sea brand?

No....this is all Lab grade and very consistent..I really want to use this salt as well, but it is costly.

I will stick with Instant Ocean for now.

There was something I read on another forum about the Tm pro reef salt being developed for tanks with calcium reactors. I think if you go onto the TM website they explain this? I ran TM pro reef for about 6 months. My PH always seemed to run a bit higher in it's high swing side, about 8.56. I've since switched to RC and my parameters seem better. One think I have noticed is for a 10 gal waterchange the TM pro took 4 cups and the RC takes 5. So the cost is probably justified as the TM pro seems to be more concentrated. Just my observations.

Can you list the params of the salt mix? Also list the salinity you are mixing to and what test kit you are using. Pleeeeeaase.

Very nice, auqua man. The levels look right on. Even better if the salinity was 1.026 I would bet.
