At first i had no clue who were those guys too :p ... but i know sweet home alabama ... just because Eminem sings it in different way in the movie 8 mile :p  .
i know songs if i hear them i just dont' know who sings them all the time or what the name of the songs are :p .

 When I was in 7th grade music class one of our assignments was to pair up with someone and sing along with a song off a record in front of the class. My buddy and I sang along to Frampton's "Baby I Love Your Way" off of his "brand new" record album...thats right record album....all vinyl all the time....it was either that or use my 8 track, but the classroom didn't have an 8 track player:cool:

WoW, how cool would it be to have a music teacher that was a DJ, i went to the underground battles in Minneapolis and they scratched records too!

But as far as 8trax? Was that in your one room school grads 1 thru 12???:p

i used to play alot of skynard music many many songs, can 't missed free bird,,,etc,,enjoy it and tel us how they are ,,too bad they don't have org singer,,but i still belived they are gonna blasted..

come on guys, i am 15 years old and i know who they are. who could froget about a guy that would talk through his guitar?

Ok Dang, i have no idea what your talking about

And Balogh i think Doogie Howser was a doctor at 15, what do you know about open heart surgery

Skynard.. The band not a man. Ronnie vanzant was the man, but he died in a plane crash.

Frampton comes alive. Graeatalbum. If i am not mistaken, it is still the best selling live album of all time and it was released nearly 30 years ago

Congrats Nick, You are gonna love it. I grew up about 5 miles from where you are at, and the concert choice back then was just great. I passed up a chance to see these guys back when they first came out, wished I hadn't!!!! The true test of a band is their longevity, and Skynyrd has been around for a long time. I saw them about 5 years ago outdoors, and it was a kick in the butt. Have a great time and let us know how it was.:D :D :D

12 hours from now i will be playing air guitar to lynyrd skynyrd and peter frampton. I'm so stoked to go see them. This is my very first concert and i can't believe who i'm going to see!!! I doubt they will allow cameras in the arena but if so i'm taking pictures!

Unbelievable!!!!!!

The concert started at 7:30 and we got there at 6:30 right when they opened the theatre. First thing my fiance and i did was we grabbed ourselves a couple of beers to get a good buzz going for the concert. Next we hit the vendors and i picked up a few of skynyrd shirts and hats for my fiance myself and my brother and her dad since they couldn't make it. Then we went to find our seats.
Our seats kicked a$$!!!! We were about 40 ft away from the stage. Peter Frampton came on first and he looks great for his age and sounds just as good as he did when he was younger. Peter was talking to the crowd and he seems like a very down to earth person. He told us how he is releasing a new album Sept 12th that is completly instrumental. I bet its going to be awesome. He played a couple of songs that i did not know but he also did his classics like "show me the way", "Baby i love your way" and of course "do you feel like i do" He also did a awesome version of black hole sun (originally performed by soundgarden) But here was the cool part he did not sing any of the words instead he played them with his guitar. It was very cool!!!

He was on stage for an hour and a half and it was the coolest hour and a half i had ever seen. After that there was about a 20 min break so that the theatre staff could setup the stage for Skynyrd. During that break my fiance and i went and downed three more beers and grabbed a couple of frampton shirts. We went back to our seats and got ready to rock out to skynyrd. They hit the stage at 9:20 and opened up with "Working for MCA" i couldn't believe i was looking at Lynyrd Skynyrd. Sure there is only a few members still exisisting but they rocked. I mean when peter was on almost everybody sat and then stood at the end of the songs to applause. With Skynyrd everybody was on their feet the whole time! Skynyrd really knows how to work a crowd!
There was one song that i did not know that skynyrd sang but here are the other songs they did:
Working for MCA
Gimme back my bullets
Gimme me three steps
That Smell
Whats Your Name
Simple Man
Ballad of Curtis Loe
Don't ask me no Questions and i'll tell you no lies
Sweet Home Alabama
Red,White and Blue

After they did those songs they waved good bye and walked off the stage. Now mind you the noise level in that theatre is almost defening with people cheering whistling and clapping. And at the begining it was very faint but grew much louder it was a chant. People started chanting "Free Bird". Soon it filled the entire theatre which was pretty much black with the exception of a few thousand lighters. Finally the lights kicked back on the stage and Lynyrd Skynyrd walked back out on to the stage. It was soooo cool!! They performed Free Bird last and it was just amazing. The lighting was so awesome i mean it was just plain unbeleavable! They were so awesome!! For my first Concert i was totally blown away. The next Day they were playing in Milwaukee at the Summerfest and we went up there to see them play and it was just as good as when we saw them in the theatre just not as good of seats.

If you get the chance to see them either Peter Frampton or Lynyrd Skynyrd i highly recomend it! Both are excellent performers!!!

This was a big music weekend for me i saw all sorts of bands from friday to tuesday. I mean i saw Skynyrd, Frampton, The Doobie Brothers, REO Speed Wagon just to name a few.

I am so tired today!!!!! I'm just glad i only have to work three days and then i can rest up this weekend.

Nick

Rock and roll takes it's toll:D :D :D
Glad you had a good time. I saw all those guys in the seventies, needless to say, I have a few less brain cells than the normal person might.

Charlie where did you grow up? I read in a previous post that said you use to live 5 miles away from Palatine. I was just curious as to where?

Steely Dan is coming to town soon and i'm gonna try and score some tickets to go see them. I like about 95% of their songs.
