I need MH advice!!!!

One last point, that Slick kinda touched on...

The MH light source, being a single very intense lighting source... does give AWESOME shimmer effects!!! Something you don't get with PC, VHO or T-5's!!!

I keep hearing about people "melting" softies with mh lighting. If you acclimate properly you will not hurt anything. If fact I have some pretty nice, very large green sinularia's that are under 250 watt mh lighting.
When I switched over from vho to mh, there was no problem.

Well.......what about 150w or 175w pendants (or another form) in the 14K range. (3 maybe for a 6' tank???) Would that be less intensive for the softies, with the "cool" shimmers and no need to supplement with VHO's? Would it still be white or will the tank always look blue. Sorry, like I said before, I am a complete novice with MH. I want to keep the electric bill down, bypass a chiller and I am paranoid about shorting out my breakers. In another post it was recommended that I have both circuits that are wired into my wall, dedicated to the tank. I don't, they share other areas of the home. Since the wall is being ventilated to the outside would I still need a chiller if I go MH? I am torn between the "tried and true" and the "new stuff".

Just to add: the ventilation is with an attic fan that will be pulling air into the wall from a vent, pass across the top of the tank and expelled to the outside whenever the temp inside the wall reaches 80 deg. It is being hooked up to it's own thermostat. It is post #18 with pics in the link that I posted at the beginning of this thread.
