I think my router is blocked or banned from the Srever?

Ok folks we are currently doing some trouble shooting so dont worry about features kind of not working at this moment. We have turned off all the plugins right now and are then going to turn them on one at a time to see which one or combination of them is screwing things up.

Logged out and viewing as a guest, I saw avatars, as soon as I logged in I lost them.

Ok give this a try folks. go to your settings and hit the general settings button. then scroll down to where is says thread display options and see if the option for displaying avatars is on or not?

I just checked and mine was set to off. I turned it back on and am seeing avatars.

I could have sworn it was on before the update.

Yeah, mine was set to not show. Changed it, now I see avatars. Somehow, it defaulted everyone's to off.

Everything appears to be working fine for me. Ya know, I've not checked my RF email, since the server change. Guess I'd better go over to that other thread, and figure out how to do it...lol.

Well, I seem to be the latest victim, of the router scrambling gremlin. I can only access with my phone. Need to figure out how to make the dns changes, in my router settings.

Sid you got banned by failing on five log ins with your email i think, anyway I unbanned it so see what its like now.

Yeah, for some reason, a recent change, defaulted user settings to not show avatars. You'll have to change your user settings. Go to:

Settings>General Settings>then in Thread Display Options, click on Show Avatars

If you are having issues with your ISP and DNS you can try changing your router DNS settings over to a public set like Google's (8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4) easy to remember and they work pretty well. There are other public DNS servers out there also. Just nice to try when troubleshooting strange issues like this.

Most ISPs should have a status site also - for example:

http://dns.comcast.net/

Probably the reason a lot of ISP do not have a status site is because if you're having issues getting onto the internet what use would a site status be? Just thinking out loud.

I'd just use my iPhone to check the DNS status if I needed to. A more obvious answer as to why an ISP wouldn't have a publicly available site is then people could see how often they are down or are poor shape.
