I recently got a new tri color acro for my main dt, I placed it on the sand bed to start adjusting to the led lighting and for some reason my six line wrasse decided it was hungry for sps. I have never seen a six line do this, but it picked of polyp by polyp...basically peeled off half of the coral down to its white skeleton. The six line had since been demoted to my other tank. My question is, should I leave the skeleton on the acro and will it just eventually get encrusted over again? Or should I cut off the dead skeleton? Thanks.

I would cut off any good portion that still has tissue on it.

That is a very strange thing for a 6-line to do, almost makes me wonder if the corals has Red Bugs or some other pest that the wrasse was actually after.

The coral was dipped twice, and i've also tried to move the frag to a higher flow area to deter the fish. There are other sps that has been there for a while and the six line started picking those as well. The behavior wasn't just picking of the pests, it was slurping up coral.

Well than you have a rouge wrasse.

Good thing you were able to catch him and move the fish.
