Pretty good so far, I was up until 2am working everything out. I found out that my GenX 1190GPH pump is actually whisper quite. All the noise comes from it vibrating other things. I moved it outside of my cabinet and onto the floor with some carpet padding under it. The tubing now passes through the side of my cabinet. Unfortunately it is still vibrating the cabinet through the tubing. I switched everything from PVC to vinyl tubing hoping it would help reduce vibrations and it did a little. I may move it farther away, but I don't want to reduce the flow very much since my protein skimmer needs all it can get. The bulkheads to my sump go through the sump and then through the wall of the cabinet and the nut is on the outside cabinet wall. The water then passes up to my protein skimmer which is now mounted on a shelf I built on the side of my cabinet. The water returns from the protein skimmer back through the cabinet and dumps into the sump. I had to drill two holes in my cabinet to do this, but it is pretty cool having my skimmer inline and outside the cabinet where I can easily adjust it and it will stay very clean. I drilled my sump and installed my kent marine float valve and it worked great being gravity fed except for a small leak, so I siliconed it and I'm waiting for it to cure. I now have lots of room in my sump. I may add another wall to sump to hold my pump and put a refugium in there, or I may just buy a 10 or 20 gallon long and drill it to put a bulkhead between the two and use the tank for the refugium.
