What happened to yesterday's post about waiting a few weeks before getting any more fish???!!! I wouldn't recommend using any "de-worming" meds unless it's shown to be needed. I actually wouldn't recommend ever using any meds unless there's a specific disease that you're accurately diagnosed first. Even then, there's many diseases with better ways to treat than with meds.

Not meds...one of the de-worming products used in leebca's fish medicine cabinet...and if you read on there they won't even get to the pet store for atleast 2-3 weeks plus another week of holding in the pet store.
to be delivered from ORA to my LFS in a couple weeks
He's going to hold them for a week to see how they act and make sure they are ok,

I ordered 2 clowns to be delivered from ORA to my LFS in a couple weeks, 1 medium, 1 small to pair up. Both ocellaris, both tank raised. He's going to hold them for a week to see how they act and make sure they are ok, and i'm going to use deworming medication when I get them home. For the time being i'm going to keep doing water changes, I used a siphon today and cleaned out a bunch of crap...6 gallon changE!

I wouldn't let them put in their tanks. If their tanks have what ever has infecting your other fish than chances the week that there at the LFS they'll catch the same thing. I'd get them in the bags. I'm not sure if this is the same location where you purchased your other from or not.

I agree returnofsid. I wouldn't just assume they need de-worming. Treating any fish for something it might not have is bad idea. Your trying to take the shot gun approach to try and prevent something that may not be necessary.

My guess is that it was because they were wild caught? Would explain why they hosted the anemone so well too...and the guy told me they were. The only successful one the guy has kept is one that is still healthy now 3 weeks later in a tank by itself...James sorry if you don't like the shotgun approach, I've personally never really tried it but after a while gotta try somethin ya know? This place is a different one (pet store) and i've never bought fish from it..but they make the fish stay atleast 48 hours in their tanks to make sure they're eating.

The whole idea of wild caught hosting quicker than tank raised is BUNK IMO. I've had tank raised that hosted immediately and I know many others who have as well. I've also seen wild caught that never host. I agree that the shotgun approach is never a good idea and disagree that "but after a while gotta try something ya know?" The thing to try is to learn more, take the many pieces of great advice you've been given and to NOT get any more fish until you AND your tank are mature enough to keep them healthy.

But if the fish is sick to begin with...then thats not a fault on my part, I mean yeah of course there are many signs to diagnose a fish in the store on healthiness but I don't have x-ray vision and can't detect internal problems. 3+ weeks should be plenty of time to set things straight

Choosing a fish unknowingly having internal parasites? I didn't know you had x-ray vision! How much does the implant cosT!

It's like nothing's ever good enough for you fishy...I got a skimmer to improve water quality, just purchased a sunpod for anemone lighting, am waiting 3 weeks and doing alot of water changes before getting any new fish..I mean I'm not god here what am I supposed to do...and I like hearing good responses from people like sid and james not how your praying for my fish...what does that help.

What everyone is trying to tell you to help you is to slow down! The new light and the skimmer are steps in the right direction. But if I remember correctly you have lost 2 or 3 Clowns in recent times (or are about to). The slow down part is to not add any more live stock until you find out why or how you keep losing fish. I do not know if your Clowns had parasites or not but if the shop you got them from had such a problem that all the fish you bought had something wrong with them, they would not be in business very long. When we lose a fish for unknown reason, we read and learn BEFORE we attempt it again (6 months or year down the road) so the end result is not the same. Just because it will be 2-3 weeks before you get them doesn't really help anything as they should be QTed for 6-8 wks. to start with and since you do not know why they keep dying, you do not know if or what is already in your tank. You stated 3 wks should be plenty of time to get you tank straightened out, this is what we mean, everything good happens SLOW in this hobby, 3 months would be a better starting point before adding ANYTHING and to find out what went wrong. I have purchased fish from good stores, bad stores and thru the web, and I have not lost 1 fish since I went reef 2 years ago, not because I am an expert by a LONG shot but just taking my time and learning from my mistakes. If you keep up with the rapid pace that you are on, you are going to find yourself out of money, out of live stock, out of patience and out of the hobby! That is what EVERYONE here is trying to help you avoid. And I do mean everyone, some people just come across different than others, I believe that I read some where on here that our natural reefs are shirking and being destroyed and at some point we may not be able to buy fish and corals to stay in the hobby, every time any of us lose another fish/coral we get a little closer to that day and I don't think any of us want that>

Just my 2 cents
Good Luck

THAT is the problem, right there!

You have asked in several posts for help, and been given some very good information. Ture, the information comes in the form of VERY LONG READING AND LEARNING. Lee has done a super job of giving us here at Reef Frontiers in depth information of how to care for our fish... from choosing them, Acclimation, QT... its all there for us now (and been pointed out to you again and again and again...)

The problem is... in that great information... NO PLACE did you read "Your problems will all be gone in 3 weeks or less"... so you are now hearing several people who's patients has run thin.

If every day I come up to you, and ask you to help me tie my shoes... focusing intensely with you until I hear back "Ahhhh, okay, I have it now!" how many days do you HONESTLY believe YOU would be patient with me, and tie them over and over and over again with me??? Not nearly as patient as I believe you have found the people here on Reef Frontiers!

Once again Joker your drilling people to the point of frustration, it is time to grow up & think about what your doing & posting here, your thread is now gone off the deep end once again. PM headed your way!
