The beauty of this hobby, for me anyway, is that it lends itself to a wide variety of inventions and tinkerings. My workshop is filled with built and half built devices from decades ago. Many years ago I shocked mojanos and thought nothing about it. I remember getting into wet drys, they were fun because there is so many ways to make that spray bar go around. Brine shrimp hatcheries? I have probably 5 of them. Protein skimmers? I have parts all over the place. Forget blackworm keepers, fish traps, fish feeders, dosers, auto fills, and resin reactors.
I have been working on a chiller that looks promising, uses no power and hopefully will cool the tank about 5 degrees.
It is another thing that I have numerous sketches of and every summer I plan to build it but never quite got around to. Now winter is coming and I have no need for it.
I guess I just like to build things. :D

I will get around to building the thing some day to make sure it works, but I think it will.
It actually needs water pumped to it but in my tank that will come from a pump I already have in use for something else, the chiller will just go in series with it.
Anyway, thats why my workshop looks like this

SAFETY HAZARD i need a tetanus shot just looking at that place LOL
No Just joking.. I love the retro 80's pin up girls!!

That picture of the girl on the right is from a tool advertizement in 1986. She is probably a Grand Mother now.
The other girl is from a film development studio I built in Manhattan in the 70s.
Good thing I cleaned up the workshop for the picture.

Actually the chiller does use a little power, but very little. I forgot about that. I know it will work, I am just not sure it will cool the water enough in the size I want to build it.
If not, two can be put together. I have sketches of that from the 70s also.
