Is there any way to test for how much iodide in my reef tank, other than go buy a forty dollar test.

you can take it to a lab and pay $250. IMO the $40 test kit is useless if you do regular water changes(with a good salt mix) then you don't need to test or add iodine.

Thank You! I put a zenia in my tank three weeks ago and have been adding iodide because I was told they like that. I was also told you do not want to over dose. My zenia at first pulsed good, Now so so. Any suggestions? water is 022 ph-8.2-3 calcium 460 alk 340

My Zenia still look so so and some of the ends are curled up, or they look like they shrunk. What is a good salt level. Mine is at 021-022 I use oceanic sea salt with DI water.

hey Chris: New question' I can't seem to get coraline algaes to grow on the back of my tank. My tank is going on three years old. I have some on my rocks and on power heads. I now have my alk at 4.0. What other levels should I get my tank too, Any suggestions?

coraline algae

My Question to chris was on coraline algae. Any body out there with any tips on hoe to get it to grow. Thanks;)

you need to have your Ca and Alk in the right range,Ca above 400ppm Alk 3.5 to 4. but if your water is very clean you still my have a hard time getting it to grow because it is an algae.
