They're the T5's that came with the outer orbit (T5HO Actinic 420nm & 460nm lamps). How do you like the 14k's you just got? I'm thinking of getting 20k's.

Thanks, it took a long time to get all the pieces that I wanted. Lost of hiding places and a few arches.
 
i like the 14k's but i dont like the t5's..or probably bulbs are old thats why its not adding any blue at all... i was running 20k in my old tank with actinics so my old tank was really blue so i guess im missing that color...
i will replace the bulbs next month...

Yeah I want a really blue look so the 20k's are for me. How would your bulbs be old, wasn't your light new?
 
Just upgraded my lights to Reeflux 20K's. I'll be replacing my actinics soon to 4 Geismann 420nm. I gave my two maroon clows to ARSA to see if their fins can heal. In the mean time I have two paired black clown in their place. I'll post pics in a few days. Oh I also got a bunch of cool frags at the PSAS Bob Moore frag swap this weekend!

These are my new paired black clowns. You can also see my frag rack I built to accommodate all the frags I got at the PSAS frag swap. The shot glass is for a red mushroom that came off the colony today, I'm trying to get him on a plug so I can trade/sell him.

This is a frag of True Yellow Aussie Torch coral that I got at the frag swap from Cherry Corals. It actually is more neon orange-ish than yellow. I took some old LR and carved it down into a cool spire for the torch.

I also have these really cool orange zoas that are starting to multiply like crazy. I have about 10 heads now with about 4 babies that I can see. I started out with 4 heads 4 months ago. Oh any my BSJ. Last picture I saturated it and thought it looked cool. Others are how it looks in real life. You can also see my candy cane that I got from the frag swap raffle. It took the place of my green acro I had there, I put my acro up higher to see if that would stimulate it to grow, we'll see...

awesome tank! I actually have that exact same tank and light fixture. I have two ushio 14K bulbs and the 4 t-5 actinics that came with the fixture. I don't like the color. It's just only very very slightly bluer than what the stock 10K looks like. How do you like the Radium 20K's? Are you using the 20k's and the 4 actinics as well or is it a different combo? Your clown goby is awesome. Seems to make himself at home EVERYWHERE!

Thanks! My MH bulbs are actually Coral Vue Reeflux 20K's (http://www.coralvue.com/reeflux.html). Yes, I'm using my 4 T5HO's actinics with the 20K's. The blue from the T5's is very similar the color that the 20K's throw off, just not as intense obviously. I'm actually replacing the T5's today. I purchased the light brand new back in April 2008 but didn't start using it until July 2008 when I set everything up. The T5 combo that came with the light was two 460nm (blue) bulbs and two 420nm (purple) bulbs. I'm replacing them with four 420nm Geisemann actinics which I think will add a lot.

Yeah, he's my girlfriend's favorite. When ever either of us come up to the tank its like he shows off all his spots and ever come up to the glass and will follow your finger. I also have a green clown goby, but for some reason he only comes out at feeding time and then hides. I think my pygmy angel was bullying him.
 
Since I set my tank up I was manually turning my lights on and off even though I had an ACJR that could do it. In the beginning of Feb I was traveling a lot for work so I was forced to program it, which was actually easier than I though it would be. Here's my schedule I put the lights on if anyone was curious:

Blue LEDs: 9:30am - 9:30pm
White LEDs: 10:00am - 9:00pm
Actinics: 10:30am - 8:30pm
Left MH: 11:30am - 7:00pm
Right MH: 12:00pm - 7:30pm

I think once I get my new T5's I might shorten up the photo period by 1 hour for the actinics and MH's but I'm not sure yet. Any recommendations?
