June picnic

ok, So here goes. The annual club picnic is here! We'll have quite a few raffles for everyone to participate in one of the larger items will be a Vertex IN-180 skimmer! I will need some help though in regards to the location. Where would you all like to have it? Typically its held at saltwater state park in federal way but I figured I would put the option out there for a different location if desired.

The state has made it difficult to utilize the parks by requiring a $$ anual pass with public parking access limited or non existant. Optional locations?

The Discovery Pass. Every car will need to have one. A yearly pass is $30.00 or you can buy a one day pass for $10.00.

Sounds fun TOM, are all parks now charging? It's been a while since i've had time to go hang out at one.

Hmmm, well I didn't know about the passes being required for state parks now. Anyone have any ideas for another location?

The Discovery Pass will be required for any "day use" in all State Parks, WDFW areas and DNR sites.

There are a few free days:
June 9th
Sept. 29th
Nov. 10-12th

Have you considered Penny's Salsa factory in Kent? Eric Hagee used to be a huge supporter of the PSAS and has a 500 gallon reef in the office. I sure would love to see that tank again now that its grown in. I've sent him a PM on FB to see if he's willing to entertain the idea.

That looks fine ~ Is a pass required for there? As long as there's restrooms and a covered area we'd be ok. Is it a pot luck? When are we thinking of holding it?

The club will be providing the basics of a BBQ. burgers. buns, hot dogs etc. If some folks could bring a few sides or some drinks that would be much appreciated.
