Ok here is a long one:

You have 3 lights on the top of a house. The 3 switches to control them are inside, and the lights cannot be seen unless you go outside. You have one chance to turn on one or more of the switches, and then go to the roof to see what switches work which lights. One switch per light. No mirrors, or other people to help. How do you do it?

no you need to figure what switch works what light. All the switches have power going them.

Well then how many lights are off at the time and how many on or is that asking a little too much

When you start you are in the house, all lights outside are off, the 3 switches are in the off position. You can mess with the switches all you want, turn as many on or off you want, but only get one chance to go outside to examine the lights. From this you must figure out what switches control what lights. One switch per light.

Well you turn on 2 switches and 2 lights turn on, but ya don't know what switch turned on which light.
