Aquanaut its one of those things that is not known and nothing has been put forward either by scientific or hobby to show a corilation so its in a dark spot. In my post I tried to explain what I feel is having an effect as in its working relationship to certain protein pigments. I cant really see any problem in keeping natural levels so all should be good their. On the zeo system it remains kind of in the dark so hard to comment on it, the one thing where they tend to loose my is by nutrient stripping their system in order to lower the zoox count ans thus allow the pigments shine through a little better. Since SPS get 95-98% of their food source through these zoox I cant see the reason for screwing around with it, for such a small gain.
On the bio pellet thats a whole other thing, I do believe it is better then dosing vodka or similar and it is a natural product but I have found that alot of folks that do it decrease their ORP a lot, into the 140 range which I find to be way to low, so keep and eye on that if you are going to go down that road.
take care and beautiful tank
