Well, I have finally decided on what I really want to do with my tank. I've fought with the idea long and hard for a while now and finally, I have my mind made up. I have decided to take out the rock wall in my tank and the bio-balls, and I'm adding all LR. I figured if I wanted to be successful and do things the right way, then there is no way around it. I will be starting out with about 100lbs of LR which I should be getting Friday (if these people don't mess around with it). I am going to remove the sand to setup the rock and put it back in around it (once everything is how I want it )so that the rock won't be resting on any sand to cause any problems. The french angel will go in my friends tank and I'm just going to let it cycle for a few months...Maybe even to sometime like around easter. I'm in no big rush to see any fish in there. During this time I can work out sorting out my flow and getting whatever else I might need. I figured that since I live in the Bahamas and the resources are there for me, why fight it.

I will post some pictures on my progress once I start moving things out. The rock work is going to be the most challenging thing for me because of my OCD where everything has to be perfect, but in the end I'm sure you guys will love what I did because I have a great imagination when it comes to setting up rock...Just may take a while because it has to be perfect(LOL). I may also not be online that much for a few days as my laptop is going in for some warranty work to be done. However, I have the internet at work and when I get a few moments here and there I'll stop in to post.

Well Krish however beautiful that back wall looks I think you may be happier in the end without it. Since I have been here you have toyed with the idea to take it out. I am positive that you will definately have a beautiful set up in the end. I am looking forward to seeing progress reports and hope it goes smothly for you.

Thanks Detri. I felt bad about you having to start all over because you wanted to try cement blocks in the beginning, so I figured I'd keep your company and cycle my tank with yours(LOL)

Haha, I am considering trying to find where the dude moved to and throwing them through his window. It might cost the same money I gave him so we would be even. (LOL Kidding) They actually look good in my garden :p

Well, you know my feelings on the subject!!

Yes I do and I thank you Charlie for your offer! Hopefully in the end, it will look half as nice as yours and a lot of the others. I think I am going to mimic our waters parameters here in the Bahamas with salinity, temperature etc. as I am leaning towards only having local fish, corals (if I get the balls) etc. Should be interesting.

LOL! No man...Let's do it! I love throwing things. I could bring my background to Canada and throw that too!(LOL)

LOL, I can't be that mean. I believe Karma goes along way. It will eventually catch up to him.

I agree totally with that Krish, well and Ken too. A theme tank would be fantastic. But, I think even though your Carol can be free. Why don't you ask your LFS guy if you can buy a frag here and there, ask him to add it to his Display tanks to grow so that by the time you add them to your tank, you will have mature corals and help preserve the wild corals. Just a thought. I think it would be cool for you to watch them grow while you wait.

I think a tank set up like local waters is a terrific idea!!

Thanks Ken...When you came to the Bahamas to visit me, you could help me stock it!

Yeah I could do that Detri, but with 700 islands here in the Bahamas and my little 90 gal tank, I don't think I would begin to touch what is already there coral wise. I definately won't be going out to hack up any reefs. I'll only collect what is on a loose piece of rock etc., but...That is only if I decide to go with corals. For right now, it is LR only.

well dood, even though i really really loved your wall i believe you are doing the right thing.
I hope everything goes the way you want it, just remember to get to perfection you gotta be patient and keep up with the maintenance :) .
i am gonna miss talking to you though :D .

Thanks Mike and Gabby. I'll be sure tp post pictures as I go.

Gabby, my computer home has a heat issue that is common with my model laptop that the company is aware of. If they do what they are supposed to do when they are supposed to do it, then I should have it back today. However, this is the Bahamas, and these people like to work on what we call "Bahamian time". Two of my friends work there so when they see it's my computer I should get it done right away. In the meantime I'll be on occasionally on the shops computer like now.

Krish, sounds awsome, you should be able to really get some killer live rock. The kind we all wish we could have. without weeks of waiting for it to get into our tanks form the ocean far far away. Cant wait to see some pics.

Thanks Paul, but you are going to laugh at this one...I actually have my friend at the LSF bringing some in for me(LOL) The weather isn't all that great right now to go diving and with this hurricane on the way, I figured I'd just order it. It is supposed to be here Friday, so we'll see. I'm just waiting on my friend to get some salt in his tank now so I can take the french angel out and the backwall, to get started on the new setup. My lights are supposed to be here today, so I will probably get them on Saturday after they have been cleared through customs and delivered to my friend at the LFS. About the rock again, I get it at cost which is about $2.50 per lb. I will add some local rock later if the weather gets good enough for me to get some rock before the water gets too cold for me to go in(LOL). However, after a hurricane here in the Bahamas, you can usually find a lot of cool things washed up into shallow waters so, I guess I will see how it goes.

Your new tank design sounds nice Krish.

Lucky you! The only thing that washes up on our shores after a storm is usually wood and ugly seaweed

LOL!!! If I had a little tank setup, I'd collect some seahorses because you usually find them after a hurricane. Don't worry...We get wood and seaweed too and sometimes we even find money and jewelry!!! Now that's what I'm talking about!(LOL)

BTW...I should have word on my computer today. I felt lost last night without it(LOL)
