LEDs for my 90

Excellent! Did you have some formula or advice on how many LED's to use and their spacing? Only reason I am asking is because I have a 90 Gallon that will be a mixed reef that almost ready for setup and I can not justify to the spouse that $2500 for 2x Radion w/ Hanging kit and 2x MP40's is well worth the $$$$$.

I bought the premium kit from rapidled.com it comes with 48 LEDs 24 white and 24 blue. I added 10 extra blue and whites and 2 each green and red. It comes with 4 dimmable drivers and I bought the new controller that will run all 4.

As far as advice no I just graphed the heat sinks evenly and went for it.
 
It is hard to believe how bright LEDs are. I was using the little tester that came with the kit and almost blinded myself :)
 
Here are the LEDs with most of the wiring done. Just need to add some more ground sets and as soon as the fans get here I will cut the holes in the top of the hood mount the heat sinks finish the wiring and have new lights :)

 
looks awesome, I admire people that do the DIY approach. Still not confident of my soldering and metalworking skills to attempt this so i went the more expensive route and bout the Evergrows at BR, but I really like the flexability you get with your Rapidled kit. Very nice.
 
Thanks Danny, soldering is more about the equipment than skill. As far as metalworking the heatsinks are precut to your specs and you just have to drill mounting holes. The hardest part for me has been finding the time as it does take quite a bit.
I completely sanded and recoated the inside of the hood with 4 coats of Minwax Helmsman gloss and two coats on the outside with matte and replaced all of the hardware with stainless steel. That took 2 weeks.
Your lights might be expensive but they sure looked great :)

sweet. i love leds. i am so glad that i got leds. zoanthids look so nice under leds compaired to metal halides. so lets see some pictures of the leds on the fishtank
 
Here are a couple of pics from right after i turned them on and the sunrise mode was finished. I had the T5s off for quite a while so everything closed up. The Moonlight pic was from this morning.





 
Looks like a job well done. Did you put any sealant over the heat sink and LED's? The humidity and salt creep will eventually corrode your heat sinks and soldering if you don't use a rubberized coating.
 
The top of the tank has two covers so hopefully there should not be much moisture. I also have fans blowing around them.
