I know there are some real beauties out there here's your chance to show them off. Please post the species, size, how long you've had it, lighting, and feeding.

Regards,
Kevin

My two Maxima's spawning ... the baby blue one is about 4 years in my care, the other about 3 years. They were always under 10000k bulbs but now for the last few months they have been under 20000k Radiums. I hope they do okay in the long run.

Ok I guess I will have to get into this one LOL... These are all about 5-6" Select Croceas.. I have had them for about 7months or so... I dont Directly feed them. They are currently at the bottom of a 55g tank with 2x250w Mh and 2x110w URI actinics...

They are a bit old and the camera isnt the greatest but ohwell..

Enjoy,
James

My T derasa...I've had it for about 3 years...it was smaller than a golfball when I got it, now it's almost as big as a football...and growing fast...

I feed it ESB spray dried phytoplankton and it also seems to like freeze dried cyclopeeze when I add it...

I keep him under 220 watts of VHO (110w 12000K 110w actinic) and 110 watts of 50/50 PCF lighting...

you guys have some beautiful clams! here are my beauties!!

crocea, I have had it for 1.5 years, growing well
derasa, I have had it for only 6 months and it has grown a 1/4 of an inch already!

I do feed bio plankton a few times a week not target feed, just to the tank

oh..lighting is PC white and actinic 4-96 watt each

I want one of those crazy croceas with the blue on the outside and the creame stripes in the middle. Nice clams there Tom

I want to bite on the whole lighting thing. I know the 6500k growth thing with corals, how about clams. I'm about to go 20,000 from 10,000. What do you think it will do to the clams????

I have been using 20000k 250W Radiums now for about 3 months. Unfortunately that baby blue clam isn't doing well. Not sure it is going to make it or not. I am thinking it wasn't getting enough light on the bottom of the tank. I have switched back to 10000k as of yesterday but I am afraid I may be far too late for this clam. A sad time as I have had it around 4 years :(

IMO clams really arent affected by lighting so much.. I have yet to have a Clam change colors or growth under different lighting... I think switching from 20k to 10k shouldnt be a problem but I would take some Fiberglass window screening and cover the top of the tank with a few layers and acclimate everything to the new lights by removing a sheet of the Screen Every couple days..
