Hi folks,

I saw these cutie pies a week and a half ago, and they were pricey so I didn't get them at the time... I couldn't stop thinking about them since, so last Tuesday I just HAD TO go get them. Thankfully they were still available, so here they are in my tank, and they immediately started hosting with my carpet anemones (yes, they move from the green to the teal and back, sometimes there's a fish in each one ).

They are brown saddle clowns. I already have a pair of black ones, but those look more like black percs (they have a vertical stripe instead of a "saddle"). These guys are from Midway fish and pets (not a place I generally buy fish from) and they were 20 bucks a pop. But they were just too cool to pass up :)

Ok cool. Yeah I don't really buy from them either. Sometimes they get in fish for really good prices though. Haven't been there for months now that I think about it.

Very nice Julia!!! No wonder you can't come to the Bahamas...You're spending too much money on fish

$20 each is pricey for those? I thought almost all clowns were at least that much (maybe not the sickly ones Petco sells). I think I paid $25 each for my percula clowns, and that was through LiveAquaria.

Well, I paid less for my good size black saddle clowns, and these guys are about an inch long... I just thought it was pricey. But I guess I just got a killer deal on the black ones :D

Hey, it's an addiction, and one I thought YOU'd understand!

Hey, how often should I feed these guys? I feed them once a day now, but something tells me that's not enough... They are an inch long, so I am guessing they are pretty young... Any input? :)

once a day sounds good to me and if you're feeding any lps or your anemone you can always share with them a little something hehe :) .

clown fish have cute puppy faces :)

what is the white thing on the rock in the first pic? i have those, i also have a miniature version of them and there is thousands of them!

The white things are just mini feather dusters. These have nearly clear "feathers" with blue and red "sparkles" on them. Very pretty, if you get close enough to actually see them :)

can they do any harm in large numbers? there really is thousands of them.
i would like to know how your 4 clowns get along. i would love two more but im being told they may fight.

petco.......i visit petco every now and then hoping to rescue a fish that is not too far gone. so far i have three from petco, they all recovered nicely and were 1/3 price compared to reef stores :)

My black saddles and my ocellaris get along fine. My brown saddles are in a separate tank for now because they are much smaller, but I will try to put them into the display tank in the near future. I guess we'll find out how that goes :)

Oh, and as far as I know, the feather dusters can't do any harm (they are filter feeders and they help to keep your water clean). I have had them for years and I love them to pieces :)
