I got mine at Bulkreefsupply.
There might be a vendor selling ro/di's at the Bob Moore event this Saturday.

Yeah im not too sure either...I ordered it other day but thinking about sending it back soon as I get it... But if you I don't know 110 bucks seems to good to be true..

when I saw u post about a rodi unit Jason. I looked on marine depot and found a 6 stage or maybe even more for $220.
ive heard of water general, filter guys, might wanna check out ebay or amazon.
I do love my air water and ice but they are a bit more pricey. HTHs

This is a very good carbon, we had a discussion about it with Boomer long ago.

It may have been the next big thing, 9 years ago, but not really seeing much on it now.
I looked at several of the places I look for supplies DrF&S, Petsolutions, Premium Aquatics, Marine Depot, Bulkreefsupply, and didn't see any listed.

After being in the hobby for more than just a few years I try and not let price be the main factor in what I pick to buy in equipment.

I would have to see reviews from other hobbyists before buying that one.

Well I mean if I had a bigger system I could justify getting a bigger unit but I only have a 45g but if it works just as good as say a 329$ unit why pay difference but if it is not a good unit then yeah I'll buy that one.

Not sure what you mean by bigger unit. The 6 stage 100gpd is about as big as anyone would want.
What I meant was quality over cheapest. And is the cheap one just as good?

Really not sure where you got the $329 figure. I sure didn't say it.

If your budget only allows for a $110 expense on a ro/di, then you are atleast giving your new tank the best shot you can.
If it produces 0 TDS water you are miles ahead of tapwater.

More power to you.
Hope it works great.

What's the next part you are looking at?

I just through that number out there that's about average that im finding with all good reviews.I'm mean if it garbage I'm through down what I need to through down.

The coconut shells was an option to making carbon but it was most likely expensive to make, not that is good or bad comparing to the others.

I took a quick look at that unit, it is nice, cheap and will work well but then I looked at replacement filters and that is where you'll pay more in the long run.

We have a sponsor here air water ice, http://airwaterice.com/

They have great service and I'm sure they can provide you a reasonably priced unit for your needs, they only provide quality products and the refills are affordable, look at it as a long term investment you can't afford not to have for a reef tank.

Just my opinion, I think you'll save money in the long run, even a 20 gallon tank or a 500 gallon tank require lots of water to maintain them, so it won't be a waste to get a little more.

I cant speak for the other manufacturers, but I've been an AirWaterIce customer for a very long time. When I purchased my 5 stage Reefkeeper Typhoon from them, they were the least expensive option out there. I'll take your word on other manufacturers being less expensive now....

I've been using the same RODI system for 12 years now.
At approximately the 6 year mark, one of my canister top began leaking. I had evidently over tightened the fitting going into that lid when I first set it up.
I contacted AirWaterIce to inquire about purchasing a replacement top and was told not to worry about it, they would send me a new one free of charge.

That wasnt exactly the truth.

They sent me 4 new tops and replacement fittings for each, free of charge.

I replace filters and membranes when needed. They are definitely among the least expensive retailers for replacement filters and membranes.

I could not be happier with my original purchase from AirWaterIce. There might be less expensive sellers out there right now, but I doubt there are many sellers out there at AirWaterIce's price point that come close to their customer service.

+1 or the quality they send.
I got mine from a local club raffle. Prob had it 6yrs now. The mounting bracket thats made of metal is starting to rust and deteriorate but still they sell a replacement.
One happy customer i am with them
