Im getting ready to move my 210 gallon tank and would like to install 1" schedule 80 bulk heads instead of the regular brittle ones. How safe would it be to take a dremel with some sand paper and just enlarge the holes?

I am guessing it is acrylic?

You could try it, but I think sandpaper may gum up.
they have whats called Structured Tooth Carbide Cutters you could try too.

I think im going to be chicken and just use the schedule 40 bulk heads. I don't want to risk a $1200 tank. And all my live stock is going to be in buckets while I'm doing all this

Yeah, Im with you. Id worry about chips. particularly on the inside. I would think that redrilling it is still an option.

Sanding a hole larger with a diamond coated dremel bit will probably take longer than you would have the patience to do in one session. I would not risk it either.
