After successfully performing surgery on my puffer, I treated myself to a couple new nems!

What sort of surgery did your puffer require?

Had to nip his teeth. So overgrown he couldn't eat any more. Put him to sleep with a couple drops of clove oil in water, snipped, then put him in some clean tank water until he was swimming around, then back in the tank

Ahh...

Okay. Interesting.....try feeding him some tougher foods that will grind his teeth down.

Yep. Just added some birds nest to chomp on, but he hasn't touched it... Need to figure out what I can feed him that will keep his teeth trimmed down. Have plenty of dead coral skeletons, rock etc...

Yup...
go to the store and buy little neck clams....freeze them to kill any potential parasites.....feed to puffer.

try some live snails as well.....

Wow, very impressed you were able to do that with your puffer. I've never heard of clove oil being used that way. Something else to add to my list of tricks I may need to use in the future. Oh, nice nems by the way. :)

Pretty awesome job on the puffer. I definitely don't have enough faith in myself to try something like that..
