Yeah I also have an Eheim pump coming in to replace the iwaki. I think I'll trade it for some LPS (The only corals surviving my tank....)
 
Had the same problem - found out the bubbles were making there way from the skimmer into the return line. I use a fiber pad commercially available at pet smart and it seems to keep them at bay. Have to wash it out regularly to keep it from becoming a Nitrate factory.
 
Yep that's what I initially thought, but my SWC doesn't release many bubbles. I keep my skimmer drain barely above the water line with a skimmer stand.
 
If it's the sump you recently built then I had a similar experience.

First the baffles being too close together doesn't slow the bubbles down and allow them to dissipate. In fact it kinda pulls them along.

Either redo the sump, or slow the flow down and try to encourage some micro feather dusters population. They help pop some bubbles if they are growing between the baffles.
 
Nope old sump...problem with the plumbing. New sump is working great so far...with some noted design improvements.
