Anything new to report Charlie? Hoping to make it up to your neck of the woods sometime in the near future. :)

I believe I have resigned myself to the fact that there will always be algae, I can live with that. It is on the overflows and the outputs of my closed loop and main return pump, and I will remove it when the urge occurs. I guess it is just a fact of an older established reef. I do not have algae on my corals, or the live rock, so the hell with it.........................lol.
I am also gonna start posting my water tests just for sh*** and grins. I have an extensive log on my computer that goes back almost 2 years, so I thought I would share some of that. Whether or not anybody heeds these reading is totally up to that person, and maybe it will spark a little constructive talk. Anyways, these were taken at 9:30 in the AM.
Temp. 76.7
Salinity. 33
Ph. 8.23
Alk. 8.4 dkh
Ca. 420
Mg. 1350

So have at it boys and girls.

Is your log an excel file? I have been keeping religious track of everything in my log files, from when I added livestock and dosing info. I would be very interested in how you have yours setup

Just used microsoft word and created a table. I know enuf about computers to make me dangerous, so don't ask :):). The truth be known, I had files that went back to 2004, but when Reefland crashed and burned, all that crap went away, with only a gee we are sorry :(:(.
I don't know how long you have been set up, but let me tell you, if you are keeping track, you always know how to track when something goes t*** up, and if you are smart, you will realize where you screwed up, because more often than not, it is human error in this game, whether you believe that or not is totally up to you;). Hope this helps. I am gonna add some pics here in the next hour or so, stick around, I got nuthin goin til about 2.

Piccy time

I started doing my logs on ReefNook but really didnt like the idea that my logs could be completely gone one day with no warning so I went with an excel document which will allow me to graph my logs to visualize some trends.

My tank has only been setup for 7 months but if I do lose something, I would imagine my logs would help me diagnose whats wrong.

Here are a few screenshots of my logs so you can see what mine looks like.

Sorry to hear about that Charlie.

I do hope to meet you one day and check out the tank. I just got a green birdsnest that came from your tank :)

I love the pictures, you got some really neat shots. This thread makes me want to get a larger tank!

BTW - What kind of fish is this? Such a beauty!
