so when I'm done with the plumbing to make it reef ready he will be my first occupant.

Just a word of caution - my understanding of Sohal Tangs is they can be quite aggressive, so if it is the first fish introduced you will want to watch when you add new livestock. This doesn't mean yours will be, but keep your eye on new aquisitions.

4-6 weeks I think will be a reasonable time.I only need to restrain myself buying new fish for that long.

LOL - that didn't take too long ;) :D lolol. I do like the new tang you have, as well. They get very large (21 inches max), and will get to a good size quickly. What size tank are they going to live in again?

You know I remember about what you did with your clam it took you a while too right?

Oh my! Yes, I messed with different treatments for months, surprisingly the clams made it through them. However, I did lose one of the clams a few weeks ago, and the other one doesn't look too swell either. I am still debating whether or not I want to set up the QT again.

This is one of my worries as well thats why I had my QT very near my dispaly tank to let the sailfin get used to the Sohal. At first they were raising fins to each other but now they got used to each other.Of course it would be very much different when there will be no barriers.I'm thinking of building a cage from a thin acrylic with lots of hole to cage the sohal when I introduce him to the tank.Let him stay there for quite a while so others will get used to his presence.

This will go to the 30gal tank that I have then if it gets any bigger transfer it a bigger tank.
