I finally got around to getting a few pictures of the new tank.
first setup, with the stock hood /w 15w incandescent
couldnt flip the pic?..added ls from the lfs, changed the heater to a smaller stealthy one, rescaped the rocks, changed the lighting
I modded the hood to hold a 10w and a 20w screw in 50/50 bulb.
I also added a piece of plexiglass for a top.
waiting on the koralia nano I ordered, bringing the total flow to 48x/hr
may try to squeeze replacing the 10w for a 20w.
40w for a 5g is ok right? :razz:
not sure where i'm going with this one, just waiting on the tank to cycle atm.
one thing that is kinda strange though, I used sand straight out of the stores tanks. the rock came from my 10g,but has been dry for at least 2 months. the water was a clean mix to .025. temp is a steady 81. It raised up to .026 after I added the 1g of water that was with the sand.
just tested the water after 2 1/2 weeks, and I'm getting:
zeros.
the amonia is maybe .05.
it's almost exactly the same color as 0
has it not started to cycle yet?
