Holy BaJesus in the first and second pic I thought maybe it was a mistype but WOW!!!!!!!

That thing is HUGE

Looks great

are you gonna skim the pacific ocean??? lol. Looking forward to seeing it completed.

Just curious, when its done how tall is that going to be? It looks very "BIG". Also what type of injector(s) are going to use on that monster skimmer?

Stang,

I thought the same thing!

The acrylic looks really thick. What's the reason?

I wanted the top of the box and the flanges to be 3/8ths so I said what the heck I'll do it all in 3/8th to add some weight to make it more stable.

I am guessing it will be close to 48" tall when i am done (still have to decide how big I want the next riser tube and such)

I am going to plumb it for dual beckett and run them off a mak4, if I find that not enuf I might double up on the Mak4's

Steve

well got all the holes drilled and the bulkheads installed. main tube is glued on and routed out, also got the becket foam tubes made (well 1/2 made anyways)

ignore the small tube ontop.. was just using a chunk of dirty 4" to get a feel for the hight. I will be using 6" for the actual riser.

Looking good, what size (gph) pump are you going to use by the way?:p

thanks. I am going to start with a MAK4 and if it isn't enough for two becketts i'll get another.

Steve

For the size of the skimmer and with dual heads.... yeah, I think you gonna need more than one MAK4. :p :p . Maybe hook that baby monster up with a Iwaki 100 and it will probably perform alot better.

Hey Stircrazy,
Maybe you should incorporate the weedeater by the garage door. That ought to mix it up some more..lol. .......Nice work though. So what size is your tank?
Thanks Scott

naa it was an edger so it wouldn't work the same  the main tank is a Gal with a 33 gal sump and a 25 gal remote tank hoked in.

I am going to be going larger so thats why I am building the larger capacity stuff.

well I completed my design of a becket holder today.

After scraping the proto type and going bigger (had a real small sexy one but when I was done I realized I didn't have room for an air valve  ) I arived at a workable size.

here is the holder unmounted with no becket inside

and here it is with the becket installed

Nice work Steve. Do you cut the round blank plates yourself? Or do you get them pre-cut? Your acrylic cement work looks Great!
Scott
