Nothin, I was just kidding around. How is the tank going? Mine pretty much is completely failing. It is a drag to move the tank.

Well i finally round'up 3 big friends to help me move,i stopped askin if they could help me move a tank and startin trickin them beer and poker games! Here are some shots of it setup in my room, this week will be the water and OceanReef will be sendin out my base rock so i can start with the aquascape!

My next question, of course i had one! Can two VHO's help my LR spread to base rock, or should i wait until i get the ballast fixed to have a total of 4 VHO's?

Jiddy - the bacterial populations you want to inhabit the new rock does not require light. It will be done by cycling your tank. You can use a piece of uncured rock to start the cycle or some raw shrimp from the grocery store.

There is debate on whether lights on or lights off during the cycle. I personally prefer to have the lights off, as a lot of nutrients (cycling tank) combined with light = algae heaven.

Oh...Jiddy - have you ever seen the movie Karate Kid? That is the Daniel Son reference.

Do i really need a skimmer to cycle my tank, the whole process will be like 100lbs of baserock and like 5lbs of LR to feed it, i have all the time in the world, then when i get back from vacation in July ill start spendin money again, i just dont feel like droppin $500 on a skimmer i dont need yet

Got another question since you guys answer mine so quickly, geesh, i have to actually work on this tank project to keep the questions comin, why dont one of you guys come on over, ill take the kids to see Mt.Rushmore and you can hook this badboy up! (whos comin out for the Sturgis Rally?) Thats not my question, okay.....

Im hookin up my sump now and "guy" gave me all his parts for it, its AMIRACLE sump (i looked up pictures on the internet) but im confused on what parts i will actually use, since im not usin bioballs, can you guys check this out and tell me? (basically will you put my sump together? :razz: )

I do the ghetto sumps but I would just worry about a skimmer chamber and a refuge. Took me a min to get the foot thing.

Put the PS in the middle slot?

I would say that you don't really need any of the extra's you have pictured, you might be able to work the chamber on the right to get rid of the 'bio tower' and put your PS in there. The reason being is that it would allow the second 2 chambers for bubble diffusion. If you decide that won't work for you the middle would work for the PS, but you may have micro bubble return issues. It definatly looks like you scored good, and have a very workable setup to get started with.

Thanks Tom, i feel like i have all the pieces to the puzzle, but no box to see how it goes together, lol! Okay, so my first slot is for my overflow drains, and then i can use the second two for my ASM G-3's? right....

So should i put the ASM in the first chamber or second and where should my baffles be. The skimmer only needs about 4 inches of water to work with
