On Sat Dec 18th, I am inviting parents in the Southern California area, to bring their children to the house to come get their own frags. Member of the local reef clubs, will be helping kids in pick their own frags from my system.

Then they will be taught about the corals as they get to mount their own corals and take them home. We will also be teaching kids about how to mix salt water and how salinity levels works.

Hots Dogs and Sodas will be available. (Free)

This is a 100% free event.

If you have any questions please post -- Children under 14 please.

Dave, great to see this is still happening.
My kids are excited to do at your house what I don't let them do at home, mess with my aquarium!

I wish I was a kid and I wish I lived is socal. not only because of the weather.

Dave I only act twelve. next time I go to socal can I come by and chop a frag from you PM colony and take it home.

Dave, sounds like a fun event for the kids. hope you're not planning to let them mount those frags... you might have a bunch of super glued kids on your hands.

Opihi,

Yes - They get to mount their frags -- I have lots of surgical gloves....Besides Kids glue stuff all the time I bet they will do better than me :)

That is a awesome thing to do. Glad you are able to do that for kids. Good on you. I am sure you will have as much fun as they do. Getting them hooked young is a good idea, I mean you cant have a drug habit and a reef tank. LOL. I am very happy for you. Steve

 Dave,
Is this a glue a frag on the dog party? This sounds like a super way to bring kids into this hobby. I wish you the best. :)
Seriously, I love this idea. You know how to throw a meeting.

Am I In The Twilight Zone!

So is this where you've been hiding out, Dave!

Dave,

My daughter wants a turtle. Where can I get one likes yours?

Roland

Gina,

Come on down and play with the kids... Feed them, make them dirty, and then go home without them :)

Roland,

They are tortoises not turtles... African Sulcata... They get up to 300lbs and are bulldozers. But if you are serious I can hook you up with the tortoise rescue, that's where I got 2 of mine from.

Dave,

Have you checked into the Child Labor Laws? I think you may be breaking a few, at least under GregT's iterpretation..... :D

See you on Thursday. Madison is planning on meeting me there.

Hi Dave,

I have watched many of your posts since I first found RC and then here. I got into the hobby while living in SoCal a few years back, but it took me quite a few months and then a move back to Canada before I found the various sites and started to learn about my tank.

I have always appreciated the information you gave others and what you bring to the hobby. I only wish that I still lived in California if for nothing else to help out and see your system!

Kudos on a job well done and good luck with your much better than Chuckie's party!

Best,

Rob

Mike,

Now if I was using the kids to make frags for me to sell.... Well that might be considered commercialism. But once again I am giving stuff away. I know the difference between commerical and contribution, charity and caring can be confusing. :)

Rob,

Thanks for the compliments. You are always welcome to stop by, I am sure at some point your travels will bring your southward.

Hey Folks,

Chris of Reefermadness, has just offerred to donate a bunch of frags for this event. So kids should be able to take home more than 1.

If you have a moment, please email Chris and Kristine at Reefermadness and thank them for their generosity.
