that's my only worry thing because i thought about egg crate but it sort of shades the tank and i dont' wanna have that

It would probably cut the light a little but, but nothing really noticeable. I have a big roll of gutter guard. If you want, I would gladly cut you as much as you need. Just give me the measurements of the top of your tank.
