Plastic Covered Magnets

I've been looking all over for magnets to use as frag mounts and i can't find a place to buy them, i've gone to home depot, other hardware stores and an art store and couldn't find any, anyone know where i can get some without having to buy magnets and coat them myself (though i will do this if necessary)

Have you tried ceramic magnets? I've used these to mount powerheads. you can find these at Lowes for $2.

is that what they're called, homedepot didn't have anything like that in the magnet section i looked in, i'll see what i can find, i just never got around to going to lowes

which magnets do u like of those, the circular ones that are .98 are kinda small but the next price is 4.50, do u use the $3.00 block kind? and do all these get through standard glass? i don't remember my physics well enough for the gauss ratings and such

Little ones are fine for little frags. They are stong little magnets. My tank is 3/8 acrylic and the 1/2" round ones work fine.

so do you glue the magnets straight to the frags then or small rocks?

I just use the magnets. The coral encrust over them pretty quick and they dont look all that bad in the mean time.
