Since the tank is so long why not section it so that one "island" is LPS dominated, another SPS dominated and then keep a couple clams or carpet anenomes between them.

The carpet anemone tank is what I was originally thinking too. Were you talking about S. gigantea, or just any ol' carpet? A few folks on "the other" forum have had great luck with them. If I find a healthy gigantea, I would love to give it a try.
