That's right. You'll notice LA Fish Guy was not invited to speak at the BM this year.

edited: I thought you were just mocking the swap this weekend. I didn't see you're on the speakers list for the big show. Congrats Matt! Is this new or have I been living in a cave?

I don't advertise on here but the BM show gets a preview of reef pest solutions first!!!! LA fish guy LOL... I think this year will be the best BM show ever.

Mt tax return may be here friday......LOL Got to get the wife to come, she's a sucker for nice corals but won't admit it......Muawhahaahaaa:evil:

Just a reminder, those of you that are volunteering here on this list get in free. Those that show up in the morning, please remind us to get you the wrist bands so that our "staff" at the front door don't harass you as you come and go asking if you've checked in already once the general public starts coming and going. Everyone's name is on our contact list that will be at the front door. For those of you working the late shift only, just have the "staff" check the contact list so you get checked in for free and get the wrist band.

We'll also have an email sign up sheet at the front door. We're trying to organize a list of people we email monthly with news about the PSAS, other adjacent clubs in the region and nearby states, news about limited time offers from local stores, and anything else hobby-related that we can find to include. It's not just about the PSAS, although it's a good way to stay in touch. We want this to be another way to stay in touch with all of our fellow hobbyists no matter what their affiliation. It always stinks to hear about something going on when it's too late. If you have info you want to be included in this newsletter: sign up for the newsletter, get our email address, and let us know.If you want to be added right now, PM Raamiah

PS: I've received a few email addresses on forms filled out by hand that I couldn't decipher. Please print legibly. If you think should be on the list but haven't received them, you just might be one of those people. Please sign up again, and forgive me for not being able to figure it out.

Update

We just received another two items from a generous local business to add to our list of raffle items.
We can't list the specifics on this particular thread because they aren't sponsors of RF.
However, we're able to display the specifics and links to more info about these
products on the following thread in the PSAS club section of RF.
Click the following link:

Mystery raffle items

Thanks to the donors! We hope they'll be able to make it to the event this Sat.
They're still working out the details because I was late in contacting them.
The donation is still a good indication of their support of the local group of hobbyists.

I've got some bad news and some good news. First, the bad news. Three of the vendors coming from the Colorado area all dropped out: GonzosCoralFrags, ReefKoi, and theCoralShop.

The good news is two-fold. Like Lorrie posted up on another forum, these vendors not being there makes it easier for local hobbyists to have room to set up tanks and trade coral. Like she said, that's really the most important thing. That, and supporting a number of the quality local stores we have in the area. We are really privileged to have so many fine retailers so close to home. Even with the .com revolution, where would we be without reliable local stores who can offer advice, materials, and livestock only a few minutes drive away. A couple more minutes for some of us, right Lorrie?

So, I look at it as a good thing. We have a very strong showing of local businesses who support us. This is a great chance to support them. Speaking of supporting locals, did you check out the "Mystery Raffle Item"?

Check out the new-new development.
They're not only donating two systems, they're planning on hosting a booth at the event if things go to plan. You can see more information here:

YESSSS! very cool of them to do. CANNOT wait.
I've been thinking it was thursday since yesterday morning. Come to find out tonight isn't friday.
UGH

Do you have a Bob Moore Stag or a Seattle Sparkler?

Let me add my 2 cents on this topic. Here is a picture of the "Bob Moore Stag" before it was the Bob Moore Stag. Bob got that coral from me as a less than one inch piece that I gave him at a frag swap 10 years ago at Penney's Salsa. The color can range from brown in low light to bright powder blue under intense light. Note the gental curve in the growth pattern of most branches. The "Seattle Sparkler" (I named this one myself) has a similar color but a different growth pattern. When it branches out it does so with lots of new branches coming out of the same spot. In genereal it lacks the sweeping curve in the branches (see second pic)

So: Do you have a Bob Moore Stag? A Seattle Sparkler? An Ed Hahn Stag? :)

Thanks Paul. My Bob Moore was bought from Cy as a Steve Elias Blue Staghorn straight from Bob.
My Seattle sparkler came from you.
Both grew side by side same lighting and water. I noted both of my corals looked alot like others with same names.
As we know with corals and tanks, and lights, and morphing, each and every one can be whatever anyone wants to call it .
Hope you are attending the meet, been awhile since I have seen you.

actually I still dont know
Paul if you can look at post 72 and tell me what you think it is I'd appreciate it.

Paul, I miss that tank. Who's Ed Hahn?? Is he the guy from East of the Mountains. All I know is he don't like sleeping on the floor. Lol. See ya at the swap.

Okay, I have come to the conclusion, that what I have is the seattle sparkler.

Hey Paul, I understand you moved again. Hope all went well. Are you bringing anything to the frag swap?
You always have great coral.
