PSAS Sponsor/Discount list

Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum

Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

Since Reed's original post has never been updated I just wanted to add Barrier Reef Aquariums to the sponsor list. We give 10% off for card carrying PSAS members.

I went to that "A Red Sea Aquarium" in shoreline last night and was much impressed. Everything is new, uber clean, with only a little construction left (it's a brand new store and really i'd wait another week to see it more complete, but at the same time seeing a store right at the beginning is fun). Beautiful fish, the owner there said they were all individually hand picked, and it looks the case. They're working on their reef section(just a few pieces atm) and they've got a section of tanks set specifically for captive bred fish(they have a few varieties of clowns atm) which is really nice and responsible. The owner described a cool clam setup that was going in soon and going to the red sea to hand select some animals, and I can't wait to see that.

Definitely like the layout, as seeing a 180half moon as soon as you walk in is neat. Since i'm so close, and salt stores are better than a zoo/museum for me, i'll be popping in there a couple times a month for sure.
I'm guessing the store will be about 75% fish/25%inverts in live selection.

Stopped by A Red Sea Aquarium today and they were closed, with an opening soon notice on the window. The fish looked nice from the window and I can't wait to see the inside. Website is www.aredseaaquarium.com.

cool. I just mapquest this location and they are only 20 mins from my house..looks like I will be going there sometime this week. (my wife is going to love this, **ANOTHER** LFS for me to visit.)

FYI, they will be open from 1 -9 pm M-F & 11-8 on Sat and Sun

Cool, those are really good hours. I really don't understand small business owners who only wanna open from the time all their customers goto work(9am), to the time they all get off(5 or 6pm).

Does anyone know if you can renew your membership at A Red Sea Aquarium? If not, which LFS can you renew your membership ??

Thanks
Kirk

A Red Sea Aquarium does not currently have Memberships. Memberships can be Renewed at the following stores this year.

Barrier Reef
Indoor Reef
Ocean Reef
Reef Mystique
Shark Reef

Ilham, the store was great. A lot of nice fish and very cool store. You should check it out in a week or two when they are more established. The best part is that they are just 5 min. from my house.

Does anyone know if APFP in Burien does 20% off reef stuff only or FW and other stuff too? I mean like what if I wanted a coral, a couple misc inverts, a tarantula, a few freshwater fish and plants, a frog, and a puppy? (We'll add the last one for kicks LOL--on the others, I'm serious!) And is it on livestock or also drygoods, tanks, etc.?

Im not sure who APFP in burien is but I cant see any current sponsor (on the list on the back of the membership card) offering 20%. Maybe its time to update the list in this thread.

Edit: Or renew our relationship with them.......

A Place For Pets, mentioned earlier in the thread.... Or maybe I'm just confused LOL
No, you were right. I went and reread the thread to find it. Thus the edit to possibly renew our relationship with them.
If you get down there and find something out please post it. Otherwise, the BOD will look into this in the near future.

I just signed up for membership today at BR. I go to APFP a lot though and was told that they give 15% discount on all fish livestock and aquarium supplies. Its a good place for fish as they tend to have great prices and nice variety in livestock. The corals on the other hand are nothing compared to the stuff at BR imo.

APFP has very nice freshwater, great selection and knowledgeable staff. Cool arachnids, too, exotic tarantulas and such. The SW is meh, imo.

I know this is an old thread but I noticed that saltwater city in Bellevue is no longer on the list, Are they no longer a sponsor? If this is the case then this page should be updated.
