Come join PSAS for an evening with Steve Tyree. Steve will be talking about the biological light requirements of photosynthetic coral. Steve Tyree, founder and owner of Dynamic Ecomorphology, is a well-known author and coral aquaculturist. Steve will be speaking on how different tank-lighting spectrums affect the ability of corals in our care to adapt, thrive and retain their colorful pigmentation. Steve’s presentation will show the important differences between bulb wattages and spectrums. Learn how you can provide the best lighting for your corals so you can watch them grow!

To receive an invitation to this event please send and email to [email protected].

Probably just wishful thinking, but will Steve Tyree be bringing any frags for sale?

Directions to Meeting Room

We are meeting in room B-104 at Bellevue Community College. Here is a link to figure out which parking lot to use.

http://www.bcc.ctc.edu/about/around/directions/

I was told lot E2 or B4 is closest to the room. Head west from either lot and there are directional signs all over the campus. It's a short walk from either lot.

Hope to see you all there!

Rico and I are looking forward to seeing some Seattle People Saturday while learning from Steve Tyree!

Thought I would bump this up. Hope to see a big turn-out tonight.:D

Im sorry I missed out on another meeting tonight everybody. As it always goes, if I have something to do, I end up stuck at work and missing all the fun.
=( Brett

Well I knew that I would only be able to make it to the November meeting as I'm still working in Whistler.

But I hope that everyone had a GREAT time, and that the meeting was a success!

Had a great time and learned a lot. Sorry we dashed so rapidly at the end, but my sweetie had to work this morning and needed to get to bed.

It was a good talk. A good understanding of the spectral curves with the coral that we keep ... Good information for sure.

Ed, nice of you to come out to the meeting. Nice seeing you again.

The learning intensity for this newbie reefer was awesome! This was one of my fav mtg's to date. I spent the drive home in the land of light. Might have even been flourecing ;)

Dang,
It was a pleasure to meet you and your niece. Hope to see you possibly next month. I will make a effort to get some teal acro to you or etc. I would love to see those gorgeous corals you two have grown. Thai food sounds good to me. It sounds even better with a Reef Tank like yours.
Chuck and Mike,
You guys picked a nice place to eat. You picked even better company. I loved listening to reef stuff and eating with such fun people. I am not as educated as you guys are. I need to travel more. I woulld definitely love to do it again. I am still waiting on Chuck to bring out those Flamed Boxers and give a talk. lmao...
Thanks for the super time,
Ed

I have a question for anyone who attended. Steve had a graph that displayed which frequencies of light coral used for photo synthesis. I would like to see that graph again. Has anyone found anything online that shows that?
Jeff

I went through my pictures..Sorry, The screen was not registering except for a few pictures.
